ABOUT JORDAN SMITH

###

"I use spray paint, a chemically volatile medium, to create a seemingly organic texture. The paint chemically reacts with water and blossoms to infinite intricacies as it washes over the canvas. Playing in the pretense of creator I flex sovereignty over the art. Limited to broad strokes, the details then exercise their own autonomy. Each atom of spray paint an anomaly in it's own right. I introduce hashtags against the space with a clear structure and linear design. An icon of information technology and the standard for modern communication. The piece makes stabs of ambivalence at the inescapable connection of man and machine. Constantly connected and disconnected. The power to catalyze political reform and aggregate millions of selfies."
